Becky & Ryan Spradlin's wedding day.

tony buttittaComment

It was a beautiful wedding day at Valencia Country Club in Santa Clarita, CA.  I don't think I recall a wedding day that had no problems. Everything was planned and executed perfectly. Even the weather cooperated.

Becky and Ryan were made for each other. From their love of football to Disneyland. They are going to make a great team.  Enjoy this slideshow of their special day!

Day of the Dead Celebration in Riverside, CA

tony buttittaComment

I've been wanting to shoot pictures at one of these celebrations for years. My wife found this one and we went last Saturday night. It was a blast and downtown Riverside is great believe it or not. If you haven't been down there and seen the Mission Inn all decorated for Christmas you gotta go. You can even take a horse and carriage ride. The bar inside the Mission Inn is fabulous as well. I highly recommend the IPA on tap and the nachos. They even have a guy playing the guitar and piano that looks like a cross between Bill Maher and Doogie Howser. This was a great oportunity to test out the new camera body in low light. I even ran into my buddy Martin down there. Boy was he surprised to see me in Riverside on a non work day.

I can't believe it's been 5 years already since we were all in Sicily for your wedding. That was a magical time. Not only for you two, but for me as well. I truly enjoyed capturing your wedding with my cameras.

Now look at you two! Mini van, kids. You two are perfect for each other. Congratulations and I hope you enjoy this re-edit of your wedding as my gift to you.

Michelle and George's Pasadena Engagement session

tony buttittaComment

We made the best of a rainy day in Pasadena, CA. We started off at the picturesque Pasadena City Hall. Note to self, don't ever shoot there again on a Saturday! I think every wedding party and photographer from Southern California was there and all fighting for light and space. And to find a spot to stay out of the rain. Michelle and George were troopers and we pushed on. Despite the conditions, we were able to capture some great moments. We are looking forward to capturing their wedding in October. Good morning from the Port of Los Angeles

  • One of the advantages of starting work at 2:30am is that I get to see the sunrise everyday. Today's was particularly special. It was a warm and breezy day down at the Port of Los Angeles. This was shot with my trusty Fuji X100S. It's always with me while on assignment for KTTV.  2 second exposure, f5.6 at ISO 250. Transferred to my iPhone via a Eyefi card and edited using Snapseed. Then watermarked with iwatermark. It's a pretty good work flow to get images ready to post with out going home to my iMac.

Seattle, Washington

A few months ago I went up to Seattle, WA to visit my son Sam. He is a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and stationed at a base near Seattle.

I love taking street photos. Especially when I am working with a small and unassuming camera. Like the Fuji X100S. I looked like  a tourist out visiting a new city and not a professional photographer. People on the street are more than comfortable with me taking their picture and just walking around and enjoying the sights. As long as I am not lugging around a big professional looking camera. It's also nice to not carry around a big camera and big lens and have all the different options available to me. It was just me and a small camera with a fixed 23mm lens. It is a great way to get the creative juices flowing. It forces you as a photographer to think and move. There is no zoom lens to make me lazy. The images below are just a few of the many that I like from the two days roaming around the city with my favorite son. Hopefully I will post more. I am just now getting around to looking at them.

Jennifer and Jeff's Wedding slideshow

tony buttittaComment

It was a very cold December day on Saturday the 13th. In fact, it was the coldest night of the year in Saugus, CA. But that couldn't stop Jen and Jeff and all their friends and family from celebrating the love these two have for each other. Everything was beautiful and ran smoothly. Jen and her girls got ready at the Hyatt in Valencia. This is also the location that she and Jeff saw each other all dressed for their wedding for the first time. It was  a very emotional and moving "First Look".

Then it was off to the Spigno's gorgeous house in Saugus where the backyard was done up just beautifully. The crowd was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Jen and Jeff.  The ceremony and the reception went off with out a hitch. Speaking of hitch, these two are hitched now! Congratulations Jen and Jeff and thank you for allowing me to be a part of it and capture your special day. Enjoy each other and enjoy these photographs.

The Bride!

It was a picture perfect day for Jeff and Jennifer's backyard wedding in Saugus, CA. The rain stayed away and everything went off with out a hitch. I have never seen such a great reaction from the Groom when he finally got to see his Bride in her wedding gown. That truly was special. Even teared me up! Congratulation you two and thank you for allowing me to be a part of it.

Batteries are charged, camera sensors are clean and the gear is packed. Shooting the Magic Mountain company Holiday party tonight at the Odyssey Restaurant.  Then home at midnight to charge all the batteries again, load my cards and get ready for Jennifer and Jeff's wedding shoot in Santa Clarita on Saturday.  Hopefully we are done with the rain. At least through tomorrow.

BUILDING A WEBSITE

tony buttittaComment

This is my first attempt at building my own website. SquareSpace makes it sort of easy. Gathering all my many years of pictures has been the hard part. I hope to be able to keep this up and add new content often.

Stay tuned!
